<p>before Catholicism converted the Mayans. St. Simeon represents</p>
<p>alcohol and smoking.</p>
<p>Thousands of books were destroyed by the Spanish when they</p>
<p>conquered the Mayans. This is a tragedy because they were such knowledgeable peo</p>
